Melksham Oak Community School
The Kingston Weathered Gault is a popular buff brick and has helped to create an amazing-looking building project for State-of-the-art secondary and post-16 educational facilities.
Melksham Oak Community School, located in the historic town of Melksham has increased its capacity by 300 places. Working with and using the expertise of Footprint Architects the design creates a new build educational space acting as a more mature, independent atmosphere to prepare students for future education and personal development.
Footprint Architects have considered the Georgian architecture of the Melksham area, the importance of light and connections to nature and a communal space for student learning.
Sustainability is also a key ethos of Footprint Architects leading to the use of high levels of insulation, natural ventilation and natural daylighting and locally sourced materials throughout the building.
The exclusive brick used on this project was the Kingston Weathered Gault. This brick has been designed to reflect a heritage-reclaimed style of brick. The Kingston Weathered Gault is a lovely blend of buff and yellow bricks with smoke-grey hues and white highlights, this popular brick is only available from Crest.
