Based in Howden, East Yorkshire and established over 30 years ago, our people are engrained in the industry and are passionate about what they do.
Working in conjunction with Hull College, Crest’s Office Manager Sue Underwood is delighted to be able to donate clay-facing bricks for the Colleges Apprenticeships Construction and Engineering Course. The brick packs supplied included red and buff bricks, engineering and handmade bricks which will be perfect for the students to work with to develop their bricklaying skills further.
Construction haulage specialist Bimson, one of Britain’s leading nationwide construction materials delivery service providers, kindly transported 20 pallets for the students using a rigid brick crane transporter, directly to the Colleges Construction workshop.

Crest’s Sue Underwood and Marketing Manager Neil Mace visited Hull College to discuss working together for the benefit of the student’s future. Hull Colleges skill coach Shaun Stephens gave Sue and Neil a guided tour of the workshops, discussions with the students took place, and he gave them an insight into the students’ course. Shaun also invited Crest to put together a clay-facing brick display showcasing Crests products within the college, of which they are delighted to provide.
Both Sue and Neil were excited to see the work produced by the students, using Crests bricks. Student Mawgan Wood an apprentice at Peter Ward Homes, who is in his 2nd year at Hull College said: “The bricks supplied by Crest have been brilliant to work with due to the exceptional quality”.
Sue was keen to discuss with Course Tutor Darren Waller, inviting the students to Crest in Howden for an open day, to give them an insight as to how bricks and materials are supplied to house builders, developers and merchants, to look at the manufacturing of bricks and to develop their skills and understanding of the various colours and textures of bricks Crest supply.
This is an exciting new partnership for Crest who are committed to partnering with Hull College for innovative development for the common good of the students and the regional economy at large. They look forward to helping shape future generations of the building industry.
