Aquaterra, the name of the series, is derived from the basic materials water - aqua and earth or clay - é terra. By adding water, the clay can be shaped and is given its characteristic surface by a smooth mixture of water and clay.

The reverse side of the brick can be also used to great effect to give an alternative texture and finish with darker highlights.
