Manhattan Grey and Horta Middlewood Locks
Crest transforming build projects with beautiful clay-facing bricks
Middlewood Locks is a £700m waterside development under construction in Salford, Greater Manchester. It is just one of the many projects for which Crest has supplied facing bricks over the different phases. Phase 1 contains both residential and commercial properties, with 571 homes. The chosen bricks for the first phase included a selection of reds (The Rosina and York Red), buff/grey (Knavesmire Multi), and a black brick (Ebony).
Phase 2 also included the same brick choices as Phase 1, but the addition of Crest Horta a popular buff and grey multi-brick with dark base grey base colours. The Railings is Phase 3 of the development, and Crest is delighted to supply the Manhattan Grey, a unique brick that offers something a little different, with a wide variety of grey earth-coloured tones and smooth textures.
Unlike anywhere in the city, Middlewood Locks enjoys open public green spaces with a stunning waterfront setting, shops, restaurants, and beautiful brickwork designed by Crest. This Canalside neighbourhood community scheme has over 2,300 residents currently enjoying its friendly, buzzy, city vibe, and with further phases planned in the coming years, it’s no surprise that this award-winning project is a great place to live.
